I have met with many leaders of emerging tech companies and they are looking for good people to join their teams. We have many students who are very clever and would be an asset to these emerging firms. The problem is we are not preparing them adequately for the new world of work. We need to nurture innovation and design thinking but how do we do this in a traditional style of school. Students need to be able to take on new skills and challenges that are not learned from a textbook or worksheet. How do we change a culture of learning and prepare the students for the new reality of work ? and how do we best equipp and mentor those who are already creating and making in their own rooms but are not a fit for University ? It matters for the students who are missing out !
