The 21st Century Global Citizens program seeks to provide learners anywhere and everywhere with the kinds of skills - both technological and human - they will need to survive and thrive in the coming decades. By weaving together assignments involving tech themes like communication, collaboration, content-creation and organization and human themes like questioning, relationships, resilience and rewards, and then applying them to global issues like those articulated in the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, the program aims to empower learners everywhere, whatever their situation.

Students deserve the opportunity to leverage technology as a powerful tool to aid in personal growth, productivity, and community participation...this doesn't just happen between 8-3. In my district, I worked to provide an access solution for our students. Through the process I have developed a 5-step plan for success when addressing digital access for students based on our experiences and research. This project will help others replicate the process in the districts and communities. As you start from this plan, be sure to adapt and share your success. Together we can wipe out the divide between students in need and digital access.

BadgeDocs are hyperlinked Google Docs created to support a workflow that empowers students to be in charge of their own learning. Essentially BadgeDocs are Hyperdocs with Badges attached. The BadgeDoc workflow includes 3 different Google Docs, each with a different purpose. The EVIDENCE DOC is a Google Doc assigned to students. It is a type of hyperdoc with links to lessons for the students to follow, space for students to put evidence of learning and a place for the badges that they earn. The CONTENT DOC is a multimedia rich Google Slides presentation. Text, images, video, GIFS etc are used to create interactive lessons that students can follow. URLS for these lessons are linked to the Evidence Doc. The Content Doc also includes a slide with evidence needed to earn the Badge. The TRACKING DOC is a Google Spreadsheet with the Flippity Badge Tracker Add On installed. The teacher assigns badges with an ‘x’, stars, or a percent complete. The Add On turns this information into a shareable web interface. GOOGLE CLASSROOM is used to manage documents and streamline feedback. First, the Evidence Doc is assigned via Classroom; then, students TURN IN the assignment when they are ready for a badge to be assigned; finally, the teacher uses the Grading Portal to easily access student evidence docs and give feedback.

It is estimated that every thirty seconds an amputation is performed on a person due to illness or accident in the world, there is also a huge number of people with limb lack due to congenital situations, in all cases only 5% have access to a functional prosthesis, and the percentage of those who can access a bionic prosthesis is much lower due to its high cost. In a world where technology advances exponentially, and resources are easily accessible; "There should be no one who cannot access modern bionic rehabilitation for money" Thanks to what I learned in the program of certified innovators, I decided to carry out the development of high-tech and easily accessible bionic prostheses, thus the Biogrip project was born, which aims to offer Modern Bionic Rehabilitation through donation programs. This project's mission is to make Bionic Technology non-restrictive and put it at the service of humanity. BioGrip is a low-cost bionic arm, which can perform different types of grip thanks to its fingers with independent movements, non-skid palm and wrist with 180 ° adjustable rotation. The movements are controlled by electromyographic sensors with dry electrodes, which allow easy placement of the prosthesis and translate the electrical signals sent by the muscles to the processor which sends the instruction of precise movements to the fingers. Various materials with easy access were used for the development of this prosthesis and the electronics were optimized to ensure that the cost of the bionic prosthesis is equal to or even less than that of a conventional prosthesis and thus encourage the donation program. At the University, we impart creative thinking and 10X thinking courses to professors, students and administrative staff. We involve the community to contribute to the project with ideas, development, assembly, dissemination, obtaining resources and monitoring the candidates who will receive the prostheses.

The future is changing fast, but the school is stuck in industrial thinking whit a sit-down, listen, and learn approach. The logic is that the more knowledge the student can repeat, the better it is. But we don't need students that can recreate already known knowledge. We need students that can take the knowledge and create new knowledge whit it. We need students that have strategies to work in teams and solve problems fast and effective. But how do we do that whit an industrial curriculum that we are forced to enforce? Whit DoThinkDesing, we help you to make a structured problem-based lesson whit our digital platform. Which guide you and your students safely through the process. No more bad teamwork, no more chaos, and whit the structure we help you as an administrator and teacher, that you will fulfill your curriculum. The EDUGuest Directory is a platform that schools can utilize to organize and track the various individuals from outside of the school (EDUGuests) who support teachers and students in and out of the classroom. Examples of supporting individuals include: guest speakers, artists in residence, activist in residence, story tellers, performers, alumni and external coaches. These individuals are usually identified due to a personal or professional relationship with a member of the school community. Often the individuals contributions are not known to the entire school staff and the connection to the school is often lost when the key member of the school community leaves the school. The primary goal of the directory is to provide a place where information about these individuals can be recorded for the benefit of all staff and especially new staff. Information about area(s) of expertise, contact information, availability as well as reviews & comments from teachers will also be available for viewing.

To meet the needs of teachers and students in my school district, I repurposed a school bus and turned it into a mobile STEAM lab. Ernie's Mobile STEAM lab has a flat screen TV, wifi, Chromebooks, a drone, a 360 degree camera, Makerspace, coding kits for various age groups, Google AR/VR kits, Lego robots, podcasting, Breakout EDU kits, and a 3D printer. The bus will also provide professional learning for teachers in our district so that they are able to implement STEAM activities in all curricular areas. The project has been a joint effort within the school system with support coming from the instructional technology department, transportation, maintenance, and federal programs. The bus was transferred to the instructional technology department to begin the whole process. I named the bus after my mother, Ernestine Fagin, who was a longtime paraprofessional in the school system. She was instrumental in starting many programs to serve the children in her school and worked tirelessly until a cancer diagnosis in 1999. She was unable to return to work and lost her battle with cancer in 2001. Ernie’s Mobile STEAM Lab is a way to honor her legacy.

We are obsolete. Kids are using tech and moving in digital worlds in ways we don’t understand. How do we keep current and understand digital language, motivations, and social lives of students so we can better shape their learning experiences positively? We can start by having students teach educators how they live and move in the digital environment. Educators teach students how their brains interact within this environment. Together, we lessen the fear of teens using technology and find the middle ground that is balanced and healthy. High school students have the opportunity to lead a cell phone free day at school and find ways to be leaders in their online environments. The impacts can be positive and far-reaching. It is time to be bold and learn from and about each other. Let students take the lead in teaching what they know and finding ways to have strong positive impacts - especially digitally. Time to be open to what the students have to show and teach you. Let go of some of your fear and find ways to work together for positive impact. This project is a work in progress as students are currently helping to shape and build the final product(s).

Educational technology relies on infrastructure. As Maren Morris says “When the bones are good, the rest don’t matter.” The greatest and most intuitive learning management systems, the best instructional videos and sites, and the most accurate simulations are completely worthless without the ability to serve them to the students as needed. Even with rudimentary tools, a great educator can motivate, inspire, and enlighten students as long as the teacher can communicate with the student in a timely and reliable manner. The missing piece is internet infrastructure. Urban areas are flush with this, but what about rural areas? Many lack broadband to the FCC's definition due to terrain issues, no economy-of-scale to bring in large telcos, and socioeconomic hardships to obtain what little access is possible. Deep east Texas, Appalachia, Arizona desert - they all have different combinations of these obstacles but the all have the same need: to provide the same educational opportunities to EVERY student regardless of location. Digital equity is the goal and reliable broadband access is the way to it. Rural and remote locations also have opportunities to exploit and there's plenty of information on the Web to use for that purpose, but where to start? Learn At Length aims to serve as the launchpad for districts, a hub of information and inspiration for how to bridge the gap. The reader will find plans to follow, companies to patronize, and contacts to explore in order to get remote learning off of the ground and onto the air!

El proyecto surgió debido a esta frase: “If you want to learn something, read about it If you want to understand something, write about it If you want to master something, teach it" así los alumnos aprenden mientras enseñan, y los alumnos con mayor dificultad se abren a aprender por su propia cuenta a partir de videos.

When teachers want to talk to parents of their students, they used to write a letter. On that letter, parents would fill in when they are available, bring back the letter to school. The teacher then checks if that works out. If it doesn't, another piece of paper travels back to the parents to pick a new date, and so on and so on. That's why I created a Google Forms Add-on to automate this process. Parents just open the form, pick a timeslot an BAM... The add-on informs both teacher and parent that the appointment is made and that's it. The selected timeslot gets removed from the Google Form so no other parents can pick that same timeslot. Easy Peasy!

My Google Innovator project examines the questions: What is play for you? How does play help us be more productive and get unstuck? How might playful professional development help personally and professionally? I'm exploring how 'we' might play more, or value play for play's sake more. If we did so, would it then trickle down into our classrooms, our homes, and our communities? Play is different for each person. My project website, playfulPD.com, is a resource for facilitators or personal learning networks to find ideas and things they can integrate into their learning to make meetings and professional learning more playful and fun. When have meetings we come together. We have a chance to experience 'collective joy' or group play. I want to find ways for people to share any ideas about time they've experienced collective joy. I have a stand alone blog (playful.blog) that will include stories of something someone has facilitated and share the memory, feelings, and happiness experienced through play that still lingers with them or related games or activities they recommend can then be linked to the website. Time and time again my 'play' research led me 'the optimal state of flow' that is often achieved when a person is doing an activity that has a good amount of challenge, matched with their skill level, and they become autotelic. I say playfulPD is the beginning because: it is a beginning and a way to kickstart flow, also because ultimately I want to figure out how to encapsulate this research and advocate for a way to honor and awaken oneself to the way to use 'flow' to their advantage. It was too complex and uniquely personal but I've compiled a lot of resources. Stories will also be added to the playful.blog when they're ready.

Make it possible for Google Workspace for Education to function in the institution that does not have a dedicated technical department, as a fundamental management tool (The Stone of Soup) and that teachers, when appropriating this technology, can turn it over to students with their imprint. Thus, the entire educational community will have a Space to manage Project Learning and evaluate both the student and the teacher, so that their community develops the skills required in the future.

There is a huge inequity right now in terms of how students are taught to leverage technology (especially social media) in positive ways and yet, we need students to lead and shine online, now more than ever before.

The Student Digital Leadership Playbook is designed for students (13+) to use independently as a reach-ahead activity or guided by a teacher. There are links within the playbook to a few of the Google Applied Digital Skills activities. It was created by teacher-librarian and author, Jennifer Casa-Todd with content created by a few student leaders.

The SDL playbook is organized around a LEAD framework:
L: Student digital leaders learn and share learning;
E: Student digital leaders are empathetic and engage in multiple perspectives when posting online;
A: Student digital leaders are aware (of their digital footprint, don't fall for fake, and give credit);
D: Student digital leaders are role models for others and make the world a better place, in person and online.

The SDL Playbook may help supplement some of the current digital citizenship lessons that tell kids what NOT to do, and instead help students with what they CAN do to shine online.

My focus group consisted of 4 adults and 10 students. I received considerable feedback and used it to tweak the project. The feedback was immensely positive. Students found the content to be relevant (91%) with a good variety of activities (88%). It took participants about 3 to 4 hours to complete in its entirety. I will continue to refine the project as more students complete the playbook.

6 Bulgarian Public schools kicked-off with 1:1 projects in April 2019. 1:1 on chromebooks is very new to Bulgarian K12 education and opens a lot of challenges and questions: How teachers are to be prepared to educate learners of the 21st century, now the current digital infrastructure and environment can host a 1:1 project and if a school can be fully 1:1 and on what cost. The Minister of Education visited few of the schools in April and October 2019 and the Innovative Schools program of the Ministry of Education already supports schools running on Google Workspace for Education and 1:1. Innovators’ role is to provide a strong layer of support and management and communication to each and every school team and visibility to the project itself. This project provides a blue print for schools to follow in creating an innovative learning space (MakerSpace, Fab Lab, STEAM Lab, etc.). Emphasis is placed on developing a structure that will provide the documentation teachers and school administrators will need to demonstrate that students are engaging in content directly related to content standards. The use of free Google tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Images, Forms, Drawings, Keep, Measure, YouTube, Science Journal, etc.) can all be used to document the process, test the product, the final result of the product students have created, and tell the story of their project. Educators can use the Google tools to collect data prior to the development of the space, publish the disaggregated data to teachers and community members, and provide opportunities for community members to collaborate in the development and support of the innovative learning space. Google tools can also be used to develop individual and school wide portfolios of the work going on in the space, so that the learning that takes place is visual and easily documented for school/district administrators and the community.

"Attenti a Quei 2" is a new professional development format for italian teachers. Alessandro and Daniele agreed that Professional development is a necessary effort for teachers and educators, but formal settings such as conferences, webinars and workshops are often boring and repetitive. Their challenge was finding a new format that could be effective but friendly and fun.
The now offer free PD sessions to the members of their community (more than 60,000 educators), but in a friendlier way, always keeping a smile on their faces. That's how "Attenti a Quei 2" was born. It's not a webinar, it's not a show: it's a mix of the two.
They promote a growth mindset, they encourage creativity, and they strongly believe that lack of engagement is just as fatal for teachers as it is for students.

The G'Suite for Me! Experience allows teachers to work with peers in a team environment to hone their craft and enrich their classrooms. In this model of professional development, teachers are matched to form a "Jump Team" based on their self-selected learning topic. The Jump Teams are flexible and designed to serve each teacher's training needs. They may be multi-level teams, even different content areas: their bond is the common desire to learn a specific topic. The learning occurs in 3 to 6 week cycles of feedback - teachers apply the tool or skill in their classrooms and evaluate at the end of the cycle. If the teachers determine success - celebrate! Reflection is a large part of the process of learning, and tools for reflection include Google Forms, Flipgrid, Google Docs, Keep, Google Drawing, and even written paper reflections. At this point, the teacher may determine to continue on with deeper learning, or abandon the topic and try something new. The communication with the small Jump Team is crucial so that the educator will not feel isolated. At the mid-year point, teachers gather to share and celebrate learning (which may include spectacular failures!) This process allows teachers to learn from others in an environment of trust. Jump Teams can be reformed at any of the reflection points since they are created by common learning interests. The valuable hours spent trying the skill or tools in the classroom with be the basis of reflection. The end of year celebration will include a Gallery Walk so teachers can see how far they have come and get new ideas for their continued learning. The presentations at the Gallery Walk will be flexible examples of learning - creativity and fun is encouraged. The G'Suite4Me! website includes ideas for possible study topics and also alternative assignments. For example, if a group of educators desire a certification (Google Certifications, Flipgrid Certifications, or other similar learning environments) they may form a Jump Team. There is an FAQ page for teachers to reference. The beauty of this type of self-selected learning is the motivation factor. Teachers spend lots of time learning about things they are passionate about - they will now get professional development acknowledgement. It is my hope that districts will use this type of training to allow teachers agency, and give them district credit for the innovative learning they accomplish. They will share their joy of learning with their students, they can't help it.

* As a college we have moved our focus away from the student fixating on achieving a Grade 4 or higher. * We have a focused intention on improving the individual and helping them improve their Personal Best rather than fixating on the 4 or higher ('Pass' grade). * In 18/19 we had increased student retention in Maths and english, a higher pass rate, and a better overall progress against the starting point for our learners * A settled teaching team in Maths with focused help from Learning Technologist Charlie James had a positive impact * Staff changes in the English Teaching team disrupted the excellent progress by this team who have shown real openness to adapting their approach The new methods are having a positive impact on both staff and students and we are continuing to focus on increased happiness and 1-1 time being created for students in their English and maths lessons.

In support of the Curriculum Equity Initiative at Chicago Public Schools, I launched the Trailblazer Program. This series of three in person workshops backed with online resources served as the beta test of how to best help my teachers become digitally ready to utilize a fully digital curriculum. The goal is to move beyond mere substitution, which is the pitfall of the initial switch from a traditional paper-based curriculum, into something that is more active and transformative. The goal is to redefine the classroom and instruction.

Descrição do Projeto

Create collaborative, multipage virtual reality field trips for all grade levels, all contents. Teachers and students use the NaviGlobe Treks spreadsheet template along with the included script to create their own virtual reality field trips by adding URL links for Earth images, 360 images, YouTube videos, static images and additional text. A classroom of students can be collaboratively building the website; in addition, teachers can use a pre-made field trip, make a copy of the spreadsheet and modify to fit his/her needs.

Occutry Virtual Internships are sets of curriculum, developed in conjunction with companies, to provide internship opportunities to students who would be otherwise unable to access internships (location, age, transportation, etc). These virtual internships engaged students in the real world skills the companies deemed most important to expose kids to, and provide authentic opportunities for kids to practice test out jobs. Early exposure to careers has the potential to help students make wiser course work choices in order to maximize their high school experience. Occutry Virtual Internships are all developed alongside companies and professionals to ensure that each video illustrates the career pathway and job requirements, and each assignment reflects what the students hear in the video. The goal is to have the students learn from the real people doing these jobs and practice skills that aren't just for an assignment but also career exploration.

Ontario educators are required to report on student achievement beyond a grade average. Using several factors, including most recent and most consistent assessment data, educators must use their professional judgement to reach a conclusion. Using the combined powers of Google Sheets and Google Data Studio, educators can create a digital dashboard to help parents, students, and other stakeholders visually understand and interpret individualized assessment data.
