Challenge
Genius is 1% talent and 99% percent hard work... These words of Albert Einstein would produce phenomenal results in the concept of learning If followed to the T. All Einstein wanted to relay was working hard to understand the intricacies of a subject resulting in wholesome learning. Unfortunately today students get into a rat race to secure as many marks as possible resulting in learning taking a back seat. Eventually they struggle with the concepts and research based analysis at the university level. The foundation of a subject is built on understanding, therefore individual capability is fading away. It is resulting in creation of a student body whose focus is primarily on scores. This results in losing out on the focus on physical , mental and emotional health. Students lack soft skills and ability to face challenges. They succumb to pressure as their minds are fixated on just one goal, that is to achieve marks. Learning, hence, is the primary element of education. The examination system for consequential years of grade 10 and grade 12 does not allow a student to gain awards consistently throughout the year. The marks secured in the board exams are the only ones of consequence. Hence students are under immense pressure to perform only in that exam. Also ,excelling in extracurricular activities and sports do not play any role in adding to the total score secured in the board exam. This leaves the students with no choice but to focus only on getting marks in the year end exams. Holistic development of the students is not the focus of the education system
