Challenge
E-learning is a growing area in Danish secondary education, and one that presents both unique challenges and unique opportunities. As an e-learning teacher, I find one of the major challenges that separates e-learning from teaching in a physical classroom to be building a relationship with the students. A major factor in successfully completing a course is the relationship between student and teacher, and seeing as e-learning at present is an individual endeavour, the traditional space for building relations between teacher and student, the classroom, no longer exists. However, the multitude of tools available for online teaching also introduces new ways of building relationships between teacher and student. It is, for example, much easier to tailor the learning experience according to the needs of each student. Perhaps this could at the core of building relationships online.
