Challenge
Like many others, my school heavily values technology integration. We believe that coaching and supporting students in using technology responsibly will impact their academic and social lives. However, our increased technology usage and integration presents numerous issues around privacy and protecting personal information. How we ensure all constituents are aware of the issue, know how to identify the relevant guarantees, and act appropriately when many situations are restricted in their privacy flexibility? In many of my elementary school classes, students question the amount of information they are expected to share with websites and apps and I have many invigorating conversations with parents, teachers and administration about how to develop responsible and purposeful digital citizens.
