Challenge

Adult Education in the UK is chronically underfunded, which means that learners doing basic skills, such maths, English or IT, have no access to quality resources. While schools have greater access, Adult Education, doesn't. The qualifications that adult learners often sit (Functional Skills) are different from those that school children do (GCSEs). This means that adult learners do not have equal access to resources to enable them to pass their exams and achieve better in life. As the Digital Functional Skills qualifications were recently introduced (September 2021), there is an even greater lack of specific resources freely available to learners and teachers.
