My challenge is that I find engaging colleagues in learning and applying new pedagogical approaches and applications is relatively easy but that over time, their application of these learning opportunities wane as each term progresses and work intensifies. This is a problem because they do not build upon their competencies and confidence in the application of new skills and approaches, which in turn filters down to the learning opportunities for their students. It also results in a piecemeal understanding of how students can modify and redefine their understanding and application of skills and content, allowing both teachers and students to remain in the substitution phase of the SAMR model where opportunities for creativity and collaboration are more limited.
