Challenge
Teachers want to build a culture of respect and inclusion for all students. For many teachers, especially those with hundreds of students like art, physical education, or technology teachers, learning and pronouncing student names can be a challenge. If a student constantly has their name mispronounced, it's a daily microagression - a reminder that they aren't truly known by their teachers. I see this as a uniquely human challenge, as a name is the single most important word for anyone. But, I also see it as a data challenge - how can we make names and pronunciations easily available to teachers so we can ensure students start with a foundation of respect at school
