Challenge
Artificial Intelligence, with societal implications in bias and ethical use of data, inequity in access, alterations to future job markets, etc., brings to the forefront the critical thinking and analysis that we need to inculcate with our students and faculty alike. Through proper instruction and appropriate materials, our communities can take the lead in understanding and thus determining how AI will be used in many aspects of our lives. This is a good opportunity to reinforce several aspects of digital citizenship that we have not done a very good job of reinforcing with our students as a community. I am looking to do two things: to create and share a curriculum of artificial intelligence which we do not have and to use these issues to improve our loose understanding of how to teach and to provide role models for other facets of digital citizenship.
