Challenge
As I described, we now have many Google Certified Educators in our organisation, but what I find is that teachers struggle to consider how the tools they know how to use can be applied in transformational ways in their classrooms. We encourage students to have growth mindsets, to develop abstract thinking, but teachers seem to struggle with these concepts in their own roles. I feel that we have such wonderful opportunities at our fingertips that we aren't utilising. I want to consider how to support and inspire teachers that struggle in this area. In particular I want to see how, based on the SAMR model, we move teacher practice from substitution and augmentation,to modification and redefinition. Teachers can seem to be very comfortable with their current practice and I feel they are missing out of the possibilities technology can create. So it is working out what is stopping them and how we can overcome those hurdles.
