Quite often it is perceived in schools that technology is the job of ICT technicians, teachers of the subject and students that do the subject. This, however, is not the perception I have from working in a large number of schools. My perception is that most people are more than willing to engage with the use of technology and are keen to learn, however for them to learn it needs to be applied to a context that they can relate to and this is where the challenge is. For those that are more reluctant they need to see the benefit it brings to them, either through certification or improvements in their working practices. This is incredibly important in a sector that is faced with workload challenges but also to improve the overall ICT and digital literacy ability of people in the 21st century.
