Challenge
A current topic of discussion in the educational world is ensuring the safe use of technology for students and teachers, as well as guaranteeing their data security and privacy. This issue raises concerns among all stakeholders, from students and parents to teachers and education providers, all the way up to the National Board of Education. With GDPR, this challenge affects all European countries. The key question is how we can find a balance between the creative and pedagogically innovative use of technology and data security. 21st-century skills are essential, and technology plays a crucial role in developing these skills. How can we inspire teachers to use technology creatively and innovatively again, without compromising data security? Increasing data breaches and cyberattacks, along with stricter EU data protection policies, have heightened concerns among teachers and guardians. There is a risk that schools and municipalities might take steps backward in technology use instead of moving forward. How can we alleviate fears and insecurity and revive creativity and innovation?
