Challenge
The challenge in education, for our region is the lack of resources, both physically, financially, through personal development/training and the resistance to integrate the use of technology. East Gippsland is classified as regional, with Lakes Entrance and surrounds having a low socio economic status, generational poverty, Australian Indigenous population and lack of Specialist facilities beyond the Specialist school itself. As a rural area we need to embrace technology as a way of accessing services and experiences and bridging the gap between regional and metropolitan. If we share our knowledge and pool our resources, we will be giving students of our region a richer experience in their education with the integration of technology. I believe every child has the right to an education and that through the use of technology can match the experiences and opportunities that are available to metropolitan schools by having a regionally united and collaborative approach.
