James Allen

James Allen champions literacy and technology as the Statewide School Library Lead for the Kentucky Department of Education's Office of Education Technology. He draws from 16 years of experience as a public school librarian to help Kentucky's students and educators thrive in a digital world.

At the national level, James sits on key advisory teams shaping the future of school libraries and instructional technology. He is an ISTE Community Leader, a member of the Future Ready Schools Librarians Advisory Board, and co-chair of the American Association of School Librarians Practice Committee.

In every role, James builds partnerships and advocates for school libraries and librarians to have a seat at the table in improving Kentucky schools and student experiences. He believes dynamic school library programs staffed by credentialed teacher librarians provide a foundation for student growth and achievement.
