Challenge
Our students are afraid of making mistakes and there is a lack of autonomy and learner independence. Our college has implemented a new policy of self study and and we are uncertain as to how this could be rolled. Teachers are also hesitant to embrace change and so this new policy seems doomed to failure. Challenges are ignored or disparaged and opportunities for development are seen as 'yet more redundant work,' by staff and students are left confused by changes or policies they cannot follow.
