I’ve noticed when I introduce new technology to students they are enthusiastic, engaged and want to get involved and try things out. They are immediately curious to find out how it works and to see what they discover. Teachers do not always display the same level of curiosity and enthusiasm. I observed this when I took our loan VR kit to the staff room to make it easy for teachers to try. While some teachers took the opportunity to experience VR, a larger number of teachers remained at the tables and did not participate. I want the teachers to get as excited as their students and to display a growth mindset. It matters because teachers need to be aware of the digital technologies available and how they can be integrated into lessons in their classroom and to ensure that technology is used as an important tool to support students .
