Challenge
Our education department has a syllabus which incorporates Drama under Creative Arts and Life Skills. Most schools do not have a specialist Drama teacher and the challenge is that the class teacher has not been exposed as to how to use and apply Drama and dramatic skills in their lessons. My school is fortunate to have specialist teachers, but these lessons are siloed. Other subjects can also benefit from drama if the teacher is willing to learn how to incorporate it. Creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking learnt through drama are foundational components of dynamic and holistic learning. I want to find a way to show teachers how to incorporate drama into their lessons, thereby helping the learners to further develop their soft skills and realise how dramatic skills can be applied to everything. This will be replicable across all grades and subjects.
