Challenge
I am passionate about teaching Chemistry. When I talk about the chemical makeup of typical compounds, I realise students dont care about contexts that they cant relate to. What will make them care? Currently in education teachers are struggling to successfully redefine learning activities to facilitate knowledge transfer in modern and personally relevant contexts. Education as it stands has a long-standing affinity with assessing students ability to recall knowledge. This unfortunately means that students in the classroom are regularly only recalling information. The ability for students to successfully transfer their knowledge to new contexts will allow them to perform better not only in assessment tasks but also in other life applications as they will have the required skills to overcome any problem presented to them.
