The challenge I am currently experiencing is the undertaking of a digital learning strategy (solely) that would look to unite three college campuses in the use of educational technologies to improve the quality of teaching and learning through creativity and innovation. A lack of digital skills and support, as well as an unenthusiastic culture to develop these skills also fuels the challenge of inclusion amongst our staff, therefore having a direct effect on our learners. By not embracing the power of technology and how it can have a positive impact on teachers (marking/workload reduced), I am fearful that our staff and students are lacking in 21st-century technological support and development. This matters hugely to me as I believe in inclusivity, opportunities to improve and be able to support our students to the best of our abilities. It is vital that stakeholders feel appreciated and supported.
