Challenge
As I mentor teachers I frequently find teachers who struggle to create programs and resources based on research and their classroom practice is built on habit rather than evidence. I love seeing evidence-based practice, where the best practices are being used in our classrooms. Even the depth to which we reflect on our own practice is constantly shallow with little structure. The teachers at my school and elsewhere would benefit from some way of improving their practice based on the current research. This matters because our students deserve the best education possible. It sets them up for the rest of their life, and they should all be getting the best from their teachers to provide them with the best chance of success. Teachers want to have a large effect on their students, but lack the time and sometimes don't see the point in doing things differnetly.
