A problem I and many others are facing in education is finding the time to learn and implement new tools and strategies in the classroom. Many teachers are motivated to grow professionally but feel restrained by their daily schedule. Between the daily classroom work of a teacher, extra duties, and family life many teachers burn out early in their career from stress. The motivated teachers will go the extra mile attending an EdCamp or Coffee Edu meet up for their own professional growth. They want to become better teachers but there just aren't enough hours in the day to do it. Some leaders believe we should just "water the flowers" but I think we need to find new opportunities for authentic collaboration in the time we have. It is important to retain good teachers and those that are motivated to continuously grow, but we need innovative ways to do it.
