Challenge

Disaffected learners disengage with learning as they fail to appreciate the point in knowing it and how knowing it moves them a step closer to potentially changing the world. Combine this with educators who are constantly told that we are preparing learners for their life beyond school. However, to what extent do educators help their learners realise their future responsibilities as global citizens and how their actions might impact not only them and their home environment but also the lives of others in the places that they call home. Could it be that exampling to pupils the relevance of their learning whilst helping and equipping educators to make links between what they teach and global issues might heighten young people's engagement, even make them more likely to be active, global citizens?
