Nowadays, children (6-12 years old) during breaktime have a snack and sometimes that is their breakfast. Some of the students bring to school cookies, packaged juices, milkshakes, snack bars, cereals, sandwiches or industrial pastry but just a few of them bring a fruit from home. Not all the options are healthy and, as I said before, just a little percentage of the students bring a healthy option. It is very important to have heathy habits especially when we are young and fruits contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber. Focusing on the idea that we should eat 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day, having a portion of fruit during break-time it is a good way to follow the challenge of eating 5. The challenge is to make students eat more fruit during the break-time.
