Around Google in 80 Days gamifies professional development based on classroom skills with Google Workspace for Education. It originated out of a conversation with my administrator. She had recently completed the Google Teacher Level 1 exam and wanted all the teachers in the building to have a similar experience. Because of my desire to research the effectiveness of gamification on adult learners, I choose to take some of the same elements and revamp them into team based conversations on instruction. For all technology coaches and administrators attempting to get every teacher on-board with basic skills, this gamified concept, when used in conjunction with recognition for individual accomplishments, is truly a great collaborative way for teachers to learn.
